I'm Matthew. I started my first business at nineteen, and I have been building things for people ever since.
Matthew · GlasgowMy first two jobs taught me a lot. I worked in a McDonald's kitchen from sixteen, and then in a Lidl on the Saturday shift that started at 6am. I knew I wanted to start a business before I knew what it would be. The idea for my first business, AutoKicks, came while I was getting a haircut. I was racking my brain for a service based business model where I could form relationships with my customers and take pride in my craft. I started cleaning and restoring shoes, and advertising in barbershops where I knew I’d be able to get my name in front of my target market. It was the first time I created a brand and was able to think about how to make my customers’ experience as seamless as possible. I created a website, where I set up my first automated booking system and could take payments, which saved me time. I started creating content showing the transformations that my service produced, and saw how it filled my DMs with enquiries and my calendar with bookings.
Then I started working with TheWEL World, a wellness education company who wanted to take their product online. I built their site, turned their material into something that worked on a screen and didn’t need anyone to physically be in a room teaching, then learned to connect different pieces of software to create a digital ecosystem, with marketing funnels driving leads to the site, capturing them and nurturing them with automated email campaigns. I was able to put the theory from my marketing lectures into practice while I was still being taught it. The platform I built was used to deliver a programme to NHS staff who rated it 9.1 out of 10.
Although I was always more interested in business and entrepreneurship, I graduated in July 2026 after five years of studying with a Masters in International Business and Spanish from Strathclyde, one year of which I spent in Barcelona. All of my work on AutoKicks and TheWEL ran alongside a full timetable of lectures and coursework.
I believe that the difference between good and great work is in the details, I create things that are both beautiful to look at and do what they are meant to without being more complicated than they need to be. Those have never been two separate jobs to me. What I enjoy most is taking something complicated and coming up with solutions that can simplify it.
The name Inphinite is a fusion of two things. Phi is the symbol for the golden ratio, which is both present in formations of natural structures and in modern design because it is used to create beauty that comes from harmony and proportion. I decided to pursue a career in AI when I realised its potential to exponentially increase individuals’ and businesses’ capacity to produce great work, but many people aren’t yet using that potential. As I started implementing AI in my own life, it was clear that the possibilities of what a person or a small team can create are now infinitely greater than before.
That's my story. Tell me yours.
